Gel nails for my cousins wedding!

So I hate to admit it but once in a blue moon I do get fake nails. I wish my nails grew long and strong naturally but they don't! So for very special occasions I tend to go all out. These nails were done in a way I had never seen before, it was so cool! it's actually 3 different types of powders that when combined with I believe it's acetone or something of that sort turn into gel.

What the lady did was cover my whole nail in the clear gel the used a template to scrape off the piece for the tip and filled that with white gel. Then she used that same template to make a diagonal dent in the white right down the to bottom (you could see the purple on both sides) and filled it with a shimmery purple. I love love loved how these turned out and if I ever need to get my nails done in Vancouver again I know where I'm going. Very conveniently my other cousin (they are brother and sister) is getting married this June! So I get to go back...hmm what colours will I get next time??

Of course I can't blog about a wedding without a couple pictures! Here is my cousin and his beautiful wife!

John Deere Themed Birthday

My boyfriends cousins son turned 1! His birthday was John Deere themed, it was great and inspired this mani. I don't know which I like more, I'm leaning toward just the plain colours before I did the alternating coloured tips.

 Colours used
Urban Outfitters- UV
Sinful Colors- San Francisco

My try at an ombre manicure

I got my inspiration from All Lacquered Up but used a few more colours instead of trying to make a gradient with just two. I like the purple much better than the pink, but was too lazy to try and make enough of the colours to do both hands. What I did was do purple for one hand and pink for the other.

Colours used (purple)
Thumb: Revlon Top Speed- Lily
Index finger: Mix of Revlon- Lily and Color Club- Pucci-licious
Middle finger: Color Club- Pucci-licious
Ring finger: Mix of CC- Pucci-licious and A purple I got from Urban Outfitters
Pinky: Urban Outfitters- Purple

Colours used (pink)
Thumb: Mix of Essie- Blanc and Essie- Hot Pink (the label peeled off)
Index finger: Essie- Hot pink
Middle Finger: Mix of Essie- Flirty Fuchsia and Revlon- Sweet Tart
Ring finger: Mix of Essie- Flirty Fuchsia and Maybelline Wet Shine- Rasberry Punch
Pinky finger: Maybelline Wet Shine- Rasberry Punch

Girls Night Out

So I chose to do this manicure because I was wearing a LBD and wanted something cute but not too flashy. Sorry about the messy cuticles, this was a few months ago and I'm still trying to perfect my cuticle clean up.

Colours used
base for all nails except ring finger: Finger Paints- Black Expressionism
base for ring finger: Chine Glaze- Turned up Turquoise (neon)
top colour: Finger Paints- Art you wondering?

I'm back!!

I finally got a new charger for my computer ( yeah that's all that was wrong!) my computer is pretty old so the chargers are pretty rare unless I wanted to pay $90 for one. I chose to wait and find one for less, got mine for $25! Why waste $90 when that could just go towards a new computer. Well enough about my computer, and on to some new posts! I actually have some followers now so maybe I'll get some views :)

My apologies!!

So I haven't had my computer for a few weeks ( I need to get it fixed just haven't found the time) so I haven't been blogging regularly. Seeing as I actually have followers now someone might notice!! So unfortunately I can't post the pictures of nail stuff I've done/purchased lately because I can't upload pictures to a public computer (I'm at the public library lol that desperate) As soon as my computer is fixed I will have a bunch of pictures to upload and will upload my collection of polish! yay!

thanks for following <3

First Pink Wednesday!

I know it's a little late ( almost a week!) but I've been busy. This is my first addition to Pink Wednesday and it turned out great other than being super thick. I used 3 coats of Revlon Sweet Tart with Nicole By OPI You're an angel on top. The Sweet Tart needs about 3 coats and to get a nice sparkly look (you can't tell by this picture) I had to use about 3 coats of the You're an angel so it got pretty thick by the time I used Rhinestones Only! to put on my jewels and then a top coat. After a few days it started to push up from the tips of my nails, that's never happened to me before so I'm guessing it's because it was so thick.
